Curriculum Focus
Our Creative Curriculum emphasizes hands-on activities, outdoor play, fine and gross motor development, and social skills. With 90% of brain growth happening before kindergarten, these early experiences give children the strong foundation they need for preschool and beyond.
Daily Routine
Your child's day blends structured learning with free time for exploration. Children enjoy morning circle time, hands-on activities, outdoor play, nutritious meals, and guided rest periods. Families receive real-time updates through our family communication app, so you always feel connected to your child's day.
Classroom Experience
Bright, spacious classrooms create a nurturing environment where toddlers can safely explore. Teachers maintain low student-to-teacher ratios so every child receives individual attention. Here, your child will feel secure, curious, and known.
About Our Toddler Childcare Program
Will my toddler adjust to being away from me? Will someone be patient with their big feelings? Will they be safe, understood, and genuinely cared for? These questions keep so many parents up at night, and we understand how much they matter. Our toddler program works with the beautiful complexity of this age. We give children room to try, fail, try again, and celebrate their wins while teachers offer the patience and tenderness that make this stage so special. After more than 20 years serving North Atlanta families, we have learned that quality early childhood education shapes not just academic skills but emotional growth and sense of self.
At Oak Grove Academy, we create an environment where your child can be exactly who they are while growing into who they are becoming. They will be seen, understood, and gently guided through these important months.
From 7 Months to 30 Months: Development Support For Every Stage
Our toddler program supports children through three developmental stages, meeting them exactly where they are.
Tiny Toddler (7 to 13 months) focuses on interaction with other children, playtime, and developing motor skills during a time of remarkable growth.
Junior Toddler (14 to 21 months) encourages independence and self-help skills as children discover what they can do on their own.
Senior Toddler (22 to 30 months) prepares children for preschool while maintaining the low ratios and individual attention that help them thrive.
What surrounds children shapes them, which is why we have designed every part of our program to support healthy development with warmth and intention.
Building Communication Skills
Your toddler learns language all day long. Teachers narrate activities, sing songs, read stories, and name objects during play. Children hear Spanish woven throughout their day, giving them early exposure to a second language. A child's brain doubles in size during the first year of life, and these early days build the foundations for how they learn, explore, and understand the world. There is something magical about watching a child find words for what they want to say, and we nurture that emergence with patience and celebration.
Developing Physical Confidence
Children climb, run, and explore during outdoor play every day. They practice fine motor skills through art projects, building with blocks, and self-feeding at mealtime. These physical activities support developmental milestones while building confidence in their growing bodies. There is something special about watching a toddler master a new physical skill and beam with pride. We celebrate these moments because they matter.
Nurturing Social Growth
Toddlers learn to share toys, take turns, and recognize friends' feelings. Teachers guide children through conflicts with patience, helping them develop empathy and communication skills. Your child learns not just to play alongside others, but to be a friend. Research shows that children in nurturing mixed-age environments show more kindness and cooperation, with these social benefits lasting even years later.
Encouraging Curiosity and Exploration
Hands-on activities let children discover cause and effect, experiment with textures, and solve simple problems. During free time, children choose activities that match their interests, building confidence and independence. When toddlers have space to explore, curiosity flourishes. We create an environment where questions are welcomed and discovery feels like joy.
Creating Emotional Security
Teachers build warm relationships with every child. When big feelings arrive, your toddler receives comfort, support, and gentle guidance. This nurturing care helps children feel safe, seen, and ready to explore their world. For young children, emotional security is the foundation on which all other learning rests. We hold that responsibility tenderly.
Supporting Daily Routines
Consistent schedules for meals, outdoor play, and rest give children the structure they need. These routines help toddlers develop self-regulation and prepare for more structured learning ahead. Predictability brings comfort, and comfort brings the confidence to try new things.

Every staff member took the time to get to know my child. my child's class teachers also go above and beyond for whatever each child needs to the best of their ability. The staff always seems very caring and you can see that they want the children to have positive experience's at their school. I am happy that they had an opening for my child. I will be sad when she starts first grade as she will not be here anymore.
