Private Kindergarten In Alpharetta

Our STREAM curriculum (Science, Technology, Reading and Writing, Engineering, Arts and Math) is a structure for exploring and mastering both how to learn, and how to think. Advanced and demanding, the kindergarten curriculum at Oak Grove Academy builds upon your child´s thirst for lifelong learning cultivated during their time in previous OGA programs, and prepares them for both scholastic and emotional/social success.

Kindergarten builds on the previous two prekindergarten years, taking each and every Oak Grove Academy kindergartner well beyond state readiness requirements (Oak Grove Academy students typically have already met numerous state kindergarten scholastic requirements since Pre-K3), all the while developing with integrity their group participation and sense of belonging, as well as their self-confidence and self-reliance.

The student-teacher relationship is as the heart of Oak Grove Academy’s approach. Each child’s unique personality is to some extent, part of the learning process. Flowing in an incremental and sequential manner, our developmentally structured curriculum is flexible enough to ensure each student’s readiness to move forward to the next level.

Our kindergarten program recognizes that children will soon be entering schools that have a range of expectations for a child’s social and academic performance. Our comprehensive curriculum places a clear emphasis on continuing development of strong language, reading and writing abilities, along with the math skills essential for ongoing success in school and life.

Your Oak Grove Academy graduate will be well versed in the Four Cs of 21st century learning. The Four Cs (or 4 Cs) are four skills that have been identified by the United States-based Partnership for 21st century skills (P21) as the most important skills required for 21st century education: critical thinking, communication, collaboration, and creativity.

Note:

If your rising prekindergarten child is not currently an Oak Grove Academy student, we suggest you meet with teachers and faculty as soon as possible, to ensure that their formation to date has them properly prepared to enter Oak Grove Academy kindergarten (and if need be, to develop a plan to enhance their base).
